Wedding season has begun and Lindy Bop has a great selection of occasion dresses to see you through the summer. Many of their dresses are suitable for day or evening wear but their new Cherry Blossom Collection is a range of beautiful dresses in pastels and deep jewel tones that would be perfect for any prom or wedding you might have coming up.
I’ve been wearing Lindy Bop dresses for the last few years and my best friend used one of their dresses for her bridesmaid’s outfits last year. Needless to say they looked gorgeous. I’m always impressed by their fabrics and range of authentic styles available at such reasonable prices.
I’m looking at the Alana dress which is a classic 1950s style sleeveless wiggle dress in a striking pink and blue peacock print fabric.
The fabric is quite thick with a good stretch in it so it clings well and hugs all your curves in the right places. The front bust has a pleat detail to add a nice fit, not too snug, it’s not too low cut so quite demure and has a bit of Mad Men feel to it.
It also has a very cute bow feature to the front waist, eliminating the need for a belt to accessorise it.
The fit is good, as always I would go one size up from your normal sizing as Lindy Bop sizing runs a little small. It’s a good idea to check the measurements in their sizing section to make sure you get the best fit.
With fabric this bright and detailed you don’t want to go overboard with accessories so I added some simple little flamingo earrings from Bijou Brigitte.
If you can’t colour match your shoes to the pink or blue, I would go for a pale pink or blue or nude shade of heel or wedge. I went for some blue two part wedges by Fly London shoes.
It’s a great dress for occasion wear, very comfortable so will see you from afternoon wedding service through to late night dance floor.
This retails at £28 and is available direct from Lindy Bop here:
