Dress in ‘40s style and become part of The Historic Dockyard’s 1940’s Family, and then be transported back in time for a weekend of vintage delight! Living history, live vintage music, dancing and variety acts. Salute to the ‘40s is not to be missed, it is an event filled with vintage spirit!

One of “Britain’s Best Vintage Festivals” (as designated by the Daily Telegraph in 2014) Salute to the ‘40s takes place on 17th and 18th September 2016.

1940s collectors and fashion enthusiasts will find an array of authentic and replica traders on site over the weekend. Fashion, accessories, jewellery, uniform and so much more will be on sale to visitors at the vintage fair and traders across The Historic Dockyard.

The very best in 1940s entertainers, with singing and dancing throughout the day, Military and Home Front displays, an air display by the ‘Spirit of Kent’ Spitfire, a vehicle ‘coming home’ parade, and the spiffingly nostalgic atmosphere from start to finish, make Salute to the ‘40s a wonderful day out for all ages and particularly those with a special interest in all things ‘vintage’.
